Chief Special Warfare Operator (ret.) Michael Meoli
Dear friends and family,
I have been asked to share that after a hard fight, in the company of friends in Kyiv, Chief Special Warfare Operator (ret.) Michael Meoli passed away as a result of his injuries. An official obituary will be forthcoming that may be shared.
Efforts are already underway to recover Mike for transport home. One of his sons is working closely with the State Department and local authorities to get Mike released and ready to travel.
At this time, we have an excellent crew, both in-country and back here at home putting in long hours to make this happen. While I would be honored to pass along your condolences, the family would like to focus on grieving and the next steps to be taken. Please give them time to do so. I, or other members of the team, will make our best effort to give you all timely updates regarding memorials and funeral arrangements.
A mutual Brother reminded me of an excellent old Irish song called The Parting Glass. Here is the passage that he sent to me last night and seems to fit so well;
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
If you’ve a mind to, Mike’s favorite was Jameson’s (I could never seem to keep it in the house when we got together). Pour 2 glasses, one for yourself and one for Mike. The salute is “Budmo! Slainte! Hooyah!” in whatever order you’d like.
With much love and respect and on behalf of all involved, Thank you.

Mike was a very much part of this monument.
His input and ideas were valued.
He will be missed.
Next time you have a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey, remember Mike and give him a toast.
